Is my GeForce FX 5700LE running at 256mb?

I downloaded pc wizard 2005 from cpuid.com to check out stats on my computer. Under AGP bus it says:

Bus Information :

Device : Apollo K8HTB CPU to AGP 2.0/3.0 Bridge

Number of AGP connectors : 1

AGP enabled : Yes

Version : 3.0

Transfert Rate supported : 4x, 8x

Transfert Rate : 8x

Aperture Size : 128 MB

Bus Information :

Device : GeForce FX 5700LE [NV36.3]

The video card has 256mb, but is this data saying my agp port can only support 128?

I am guessing you refering to this

Aperture Size : 128 MB

If it is Aperture size means how much system ram the video card can access after all 256MB of your video card ram is used up.

So does that mean it is using the 256mb? Or it can only use 128 out of the 256?

I wasnt sure if maybe some agp slots only support 128mb cards.

It means if your card runs out of onboard memory (the 256MB) it can access 128MB of your RAM (aka what mgold said). The aperature size is adjustable in the BIOS. It will probably never use any of the extra 128MB.

I see, thanks guys. Than it sounds like if it can use on board ram there isnt really much need to get a 256mb card, as a 128 would work just as well, than switch over tothe physical ram if necesary.

the stuff the card has onboard is much faster so it is worth while, assuming the card is powerful enough to need it.
