Buying for the first time...

I'm planning to build a pc for the first time and i'm not really sure what to look for in a Graphics card and where to start. I live in Australia and if anoyone could give me any useful Aussie site(s) a would greatly appreciate it!

What kind of processor, RAM, and mobo are you getting?? (also is it AGP or PCI- E)

My Cpu will be AMD Athlon64 Dual-Core and i plan to get at least 1 Gig RAM i'm not sure about the moBo yet tho. I'm looking for a graphics card in AGP.

You should be looking at pci-e for a new build, especially since you on s939.

well thats not a bad budget, you should be able to pick up a 6800gt and have a fit of change. Which is a good card

For the price get an ATI X850 or like he said 6800GT.

2 standard 6600's probably wouldnt even compare to a single 6800 GT. It ould be a waste of time and money, stick with the one top end card, go with either the nVidia GeForce 6800GT or the ATI X850 and you'll have a stunning setup. Just make sure you dont skimp on the RAM, haveing 1Gb is all good but mke sure its low latency.

Alos, are you planning to overclock your new system??
