I've got a problem. I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop. It's about 18 months old. It has a pentium 4 processor and 256 ram. I've had no problems with this computer yet. Recently, I opened my computer, which was sleeping, only to find the processor working hard but nothing happening. After a few minutes of this, I removed the battery and restarted my computer. When I did, Microsoft (I'm running XP) told me that there has been a problem detected with my graphics controller, and I should update it with Intel. My graphics controller is Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV. I updated it, but the problem persists, only now microsoft does not detect a problem. So here is what happens. When I start my laptop up, it runs fine. No problems. If it sleeps, however, when I try to wake it the computer apparently runs normal, but I see nothing on my monitor. The monitor looks like it has juice running into it, but it is just dark. If I shut down the computer and restart it, everything is fine. For now, I have just told my computer to never sleep, but find this problem annoying. I'd love to hear any ideas or suggestions. Thanks
