I would try reinstalling the video card drivers first and see if that fixes it.

reinstall your video card drivers. Their probably on your compaqurecovery disk unless you installed a new video card yourself. Otherwise look for a cd specificly for your card or at the manufactures web site.

I've had that happen before on one of my older computers. It turned out that a memory slot was bad and when I tried to install new memory it messed up the computer (don't ask me why or how). Did you recently put in new memory or any other new hardware?

1. this problem is occuring for ur graphics card/AGP. if u have the driver CD of ur AGP card u should re-install it.

2. if that doesn't work, right click on my computer > propertise > on the device manager option un-install ur display card and restart ur pc > then install the driver again.
