compability mode?!

hi!

I have asked a question before what to do to install a program that won't install becouse an error appears where it's written that I should log into an adminstrators account, but I'm already logged in at an adminstrators account. Then a guy answered me that I should run it in compability mode to install the program. What's compability mode?! please help! (I'm using Windows XP Home Edition)

compadility mode is a feature only vista has, it allows you to run the program as if it was running in windows; xp, 98, 2000, me, etc... However windows xp does not have this
