6800 help...

Please can someone help me with the 2 problems..



1. I read that the 6800 ultra needs 2 power supplies.

If this is true does something come with the card or do you have to buy something separate? If so where do you buy this extra power thing from?



2. What is the difference between the 6800 ultra golden sample and the

FX-6800 ultra golden sample? what does the FX version have?

1. The 6800 does require two 4pin molex power connectors to augment the power coming from the AGP port.



2. The card SHOULD come with two extra molex splitters but you never know. If you need something like this http://store.yahoo.com/xoxide/4pinsplitter.html



3. Gimme a link for the two cards and I'll have a look

just make sure you connect two seperate rails from the power supply to the card and not just a splitter from one rail into two molex connectors.



From what i can come up with there is no difference between those two. One manufacturer just left out the fx but it is the same chipset and they have the same amount of onboard video memory. The only difference i could find is between the 6800 ultra and the 6800 ultra golden sample being the 'gs' version has been overclocked slightly by the gainward company.
