i was wondering since its a 2.1 sound system, do i need a special sound card??
if anyone could help it would be greatly appreicated
the sound device i currently have is soundMAX Digital Audio
is that a bad sound device??
thanks again in advance =]
2.1 speakers don't need a special sound card, as long as the one you have has a line-out port for speakers (usually green).

You don't need one for 2.1 sound. You may need a sound card for 5.1 sound, but it depends on your intergrated sound card.

ya what they said. the .1 always stands for the sub. 2.1 just links in stereo through the sub then back out to channels left and right.

i just got those speakers in today and the left one doesent work.
ive checked the wiring to the sub, and all the speaker settings/balance
when i move the balance to the right it stays the same but when i move it to the left nothing but the sub plays.
its so weird. my last speakers did this same thing but the left speaker would only play so loud. (not loud at all)
what should i do??
is it my computer??
i have a dell dimension 2300.
i think ive had it for about 5 years or more.
the mic on the wired remote... i cant even get that to work..
thanks alote if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.

I sometimes get that problem with my left speakers (front left and rear left), what I do put some music on, and just twizzle the connecter where it goes into the sub and wait until they work.

It's either a dodgy wire or the soundcard's had it. Plug the speakers into an ipod or cd player to check they work properly, and make sure all connections a tight. Still no improvement, then plug some headphones directly into your soundcard output and check if both sides work (you'll have to turn the volume down in windows first or it'll blow your head off)
