I recently purchased a new sound card becasue the onboard sound on my pc had mic issues. I still have the same issue.... Im thinking its because I still have my on board sound installed.... I opened my device manager.... I dont know what to disable... anyone have any ideas? Would a screen shot help? Thanks... Ive tried 5 different mics... played around in the recording options on the sound properties... nothings muted... I need the mic for rosetta stone.. im moving to germany in a few months and I want to work on my speech
It really shouldn't matter how many sound cards you have installed as they would each work independently. However, it is a good idea to disable the onboard if you're no longer using it. Check in the bios rather than device manager. Typically, there's an intergrated peripherals section with the sound card listed.
