Hi just put together my new computer. And I connected my old stereo speakers to the rear panel and I get no sound, attached them to the headphone socket in the front and no sound again, then attached headphones to this port and still no sound. I installed all the motherboard drivers and sound drivers that were on the disk, sound isn't muted, speakers have power and turned on lol, I know the units with the audio output things should work and I believe wired correctly as the USB ports still work, so I'm really confused. How do I get some sound.
Thanks
Jon
Have you tried earphones? Just to find wether it's the computer or speakers.

Yes I tried them. The speakers for some reason are working now BUT the headphones are still not working. I will have a fiddle around in the case and see if I can get it to work.

Don't know, opened case played with wires turned it back on with speakers already connected and it liked it lol. Still the headphone port at front not working but it detects when I add a device lol, I will try again.

with some mobos you can have either the back audio from mobo or the front not both so make sure you have wired the front audio properly.

I would not know if it was wired correctly BUT I did say allow both front and back sound devices in the sound management thing.
