Are the Logitech Z-680 the older version of the Logitech Z-5500? I have been online looking at reviews and I kinda getting this impression. But I am no expert on the subject. If they are different which model is better? They both seem to have the same specs so this may sound like a dumb question.

Yes, the Z-680s are the Z-5500's predecessor.

Thanks, another question. I plan on hooking the Z-5500's up to my notebook computer, would it be worth it to pay the $60 and get the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card? Is there a noticeable difference?

Ok, I read some of the reviews of that sound card i mentioned earlier in this post, and someone said that the notebook audigy wont work in newer dell computers would it work in mine?
