Dual sound card problem with Windows Vista

Hi there,

I am trying to install both a Sound Blaster Audigy card and a Sound Blaster Live! card in Windows Vista. I have installed the Audigy card fine, but when I connect the Sound Blaster Live! card I get a blue screen error on boot. I have gone into safe mode and installed the Sound Blaster Live! driver files but this still has not solved the problem. Is this a case of Windows being confused as to which is the default sound source?

According to the sound settings, the Audigy card is marked as the default sound card which is good as I want this to be the default, although the Sound Blaster Live! card does not appear in the sound settings.

Device Manager has managed to identify both of these cards.

I have managed to do this fine in Windows XP. Is it possible that the Soundblaster Live! card is not compatible with Windows Vista?

Thanks

Vista's Creative driver's seem very rudimentary at present; indeed installing it on my dad's Vista machine revealed you don't get the applications etc that you get with XP. It might be down to that also because the mic support is pretty terrible.

go to the creative site and download the most recent drivers for each, then install the Live! one first and reboot and then install the audigy first, see if that helps
