Headphones only sound in left earmuff

I just bought a new pair of headphones, the gamer ones thats like $50 from Frys, and the thing only plays sound in the left earmuff. Is there a driver that didn't come with the headset that I have to download or is it defective?

Check the settings of your computer, as you might only have the left channel playing instead of both sides.

I have never used headphones requiring any drivers, but I would definitely update to the latest drivers for your sound card.

If nothing works, probably it's defective and return to store like theresthatguy said

What brand are these headphones anyway?

make sure they are pluged in all the way. if you see metel push harder

Do wires go to both ears of the headphones, or only to one?

If the wire only goes to one side, does that side work?
