Sound problem

Hello everyone,

my computer does not detect any speaker jacks plugged in. I just reinstalled windows XP professional on one partition and windows vista 64-bit on another partition (same hard drive). The sound in Vista is working fine, when in XP i have the above mentioned problem.

Can anyone help me?

The drivers are correctly installed. I thought it was a technical error (motherboard), but if the sound is fine under Vista, this is not the case, i belive.

Thank you and best regards.

It sounds like you might not have the drivers as corrrectly installed as you think you do

What motherboard is this or are you using a sound card?

Thank you for your help, but i belive something was wrong with the windows xp, that i had installed. I installed another copy of Xp, and everything is fine.

I have problems though, with installing two OS's at the same time on the same hard drive - different partitions of course (vista and xp). I formated and reinstalled windows xp for the 10-th time!

Guess i will have to continue working with Windows XP, until i find a solution!

thanks again
