for some reason, Oblivion sounds all wacked out on this computer when i run it with full sound hardware acceleration. It sounds like EAX or something else is just trying "too hard" for lack of a better explanation..stuff sounds weird and muffled and strangely directional.
anyway, it sounds fine when i set hardware acceleration to basic..im just sort of curious as to exactly what kind of trade-off there is for that. It basically just appears to fix things, and I don't bother to switch it back to full for other games or anything...am I taking any sort of serious performance hit that I don't really know about or notice?
