Upgrading my computer

Hey, didnt know where to put this thread, so its going here i guess.

I have a Athlon 2800+ (2.08 GHz), with 1.25 GB of DDR ram. I have a radeon 9200SE (128MB SDRAM). I dont know what to upgrade next. My computer maxes out at 2Gs of Ram and i was thinkin about replacin the 256 i got in there and goin for the gig stick, but i want to upgrade what would do the best for my performance from my current setup. Im a gamer, play WoW and such things, and im lookin for my games to run smoother. I feel like they should be running smoother then they are with my comp, but their not, so whatever. Ive also heard bad things about my radeon card, so i was thinkin about goin for a 512 card. I also dont want to spend more then $150. Opinions please!

Since you have a budget I know that if you bought a 1 gig stick of ram that would make a pretty drastic increase by itself. With more ram you will be able to run programs faster and easier. The more ram you have the faster the files you run can be stored in memory.

This also depends on if you see a decrease in video quality to your liking. If you do see it lagging or a decrease in video performance then I would recommend looking at a new video card but if it's not I wouldn't worry about it.

Overall, I would recommend getting the RAM because it is always one of the cheapest upgrades when it comes to a budget. + having more than 256 MB you will be able to open any file, program or game with ease.

If you've already got 1.25GB of RAM, that's more than sufficient for a system like that. Your biggest bottleneck will be your video card. Upgrading that will provide the most benefits in gaming, however if your video card is an AGP card it may be worth saving up until you can afford to move to a PCI-E platform.
