I have creative 7.1 speaker but the problem is only 3 speakers work other 4 dont so i dont know what to do

I have a 5.1 creative system and it took me forever to figure out the problem, so I went I think to windows site. I don't rememebr at all and I had to download something so it all worked.

software patch? upgraded driver? wrong drivers for XXX type of OS?
