need some help with my 5.1 speakers

I've been having this problem since I got my speakers. Basically it boils down to the center channel not making any noise at all, but when I go to the control panel to test the channels all 5 channels work. For some reason when I go to play games or listen to music only 5 of the channels work. Im certain everything is connected correctly.

Anyways my speakers are logitech X-530 speakers and I have a creative 5.1! live sound card.

The Control Panel is the wrong place to start there. When dropping down the Programs menu at Start you will easily find the Creative folder where the folder there branches out into the sound mixer, EAX console, audio console, speaker settings. speaker calibration, and equalizer. You simply make sure you calibrate the speaker using the wizard there to click on each speaker in the chart when you hear the test sound as you go along. This will show a red X mark on any found with no output or not plugged in correctly.

With 5.1 speakers that would be green for the front, amber or orange for the rear, and black for the center on the card itself. The jacks on the card itself are green or blue for front, amber, yellow, or orange for the rear in the middle of the three output jacks, and usually black for the bottom or last jack. Look over these settings.

I managed to fix the problem, I needed to get a copy of creative playcenter and enable cmss.
