creative sb-fi problem please help sound card

hello guys i just got a sound card on my computer creative SB-FI i installed everyting is good i use it and after i turn my pc of and try to come bak to use my pc da sound card dont work i have to like installed again there no sound so wat i do is i keep installing it over and over i even changed it to another drive if anyone please can help i would iprecited nice forum by da way thanx

Make sure the drivers are up to date, and you uninstall the software before you reinstall it. Also make sure you have a working pair of speakers/headphones. try getting a pair you know for sure works. O and plug it into the right port on the sound card, for regular stereo it goes in the green slot.

Besides a possible defective card suddenly giving out and needing a return to the vendor or store where it was bought it may not be down in the pci slot evenly. You can try reseating the card or moving it from the first to the second or third. Sometime XP's resource sharing presents a problem with sound cards and other pci hardwares installed.

First, I think you're referring to the Sound Blaster X-Fi. And when you install it in a PCI slot, you have to install the drivers in Windows otherwise you wont get any sound.
