last night I was looking up the specs on the ps3, pretty inpressive.
and I found an article of someone putting fedora core 5 on it, then I looked up what the performance would be like. they compared to the powerpc G5, and the results were pretty close to the same.
so now my question, would it be cheaper and better to purchase a ps3 and put fedora on it compared to buying a prebuilt desktop. for the price. approx. $700.
thanks :]
no desktops are far more powerful

Not neccesarily more powerful, more or less better optimized. Running fedora core you wouldn't be able to game as well as you would think.
