Amp and Subwoofer

okay lemme ask a question regarding amp specs and sub specs.



What would happen if I hook a 4 ohm subwoofer to an 8 ohm amp?

Just as an example....say a 200 watt amp at 8 ohms.....what would happen if i hooked a 600 watt sub at 4 ohms to it?

That is fine. You just don't want to be bridging two 8-ohm subs to a 4 ohm amp, or something along those lines.

well.. Speakers do have a variable resistance. ( we had speakers that could go down to 0Ohm when you set them loud,.. sich is quite a Amp. killer :x )

is there a way to find out how low the subwoofer can go? but, tbh, i dont see a problem yet, i think you should be just fine
