I have had this SMC wireless router for more than two years, it has worked alright for the time I've had it but we have an issue with it. After many firmware updates I am now running the latest firmware (v. 1.19) and it still drops connection the odd time (maybe once every couple days). We had cable internet, it did this, we are now on DSL and it still does this.
Basically what happens is I'll be connected to the wireless router but when I open Firefox it won't access the internet. This problem gets fixed by simply unplugging the router only, but not the modem. I am thinking that the router is the problem, but not my modem. I have the router configured properly and am starting to think that it may be time for a new router? This one is pretty old and while it supports everything I need it to (WPA2, etc.) the random disconnections are getting annoying and maybe a new router will solve all this...
