Ok, I'm planning on networking a house with a friend, and I have a few technical questions.
Should I use Cat5 Cable for everything behind walls? Cat5 is not shielded, however, is that still my best choice? and why..
The only thing that you will need to watch when running cat5 UTP is that you don't get close to any items that will produce EMI (electro-magnetic interference.) such as, items containing electric motors, fluorescent lights, etc.
If you need the protection of shielding in a particular area you could use metal conduit to run the cable through.
