I was just curious. It is a pipe dream But, I would use it for backing up everything from my computers.

I know free open source solution that you could use for imaging

Then you could set up another volume on your Linux rig for data back ups and just share it to mac and windows via Samba.



Overall, it is not hard to set up as long as you know some basics.

it is just like installing windows. you will need like 10 gb. i find that is all i need... or do you mean like hardware. if so it can be crappy. it can be like a 1ghz 512 mb ram 20 gb hd (could be 10) if you want a firewall, 2 lan, if not just 1, that is it
