Router Causing SLOW downloads

Right, the DLINK G604T is a real pain, webpages load quickly on all networked computers however when it comes down to dowloading files I am getting 10kb/s and lower. I am paying for 512 kb/s Broadband. Is this faulty wiring because Ive tried everything, TCP tweaks etc... Or is the modem in the router broken?

Itn just isnt good enough, and also it seems inconsistant, after I posted thisn topic I tried a speed test and it was 450kbps.

which location are you using to get these results, you're from the UK so use this one:

that will give the most accurate results, and remember not to be doing anything whilts testing the speed, sign out of msn and eveything, then you will get the best results, and are the speeds te same from both your laptop and desktop??
