computer not detecting mouse and keyboard


My gfrandmothers computer doesnt detect the keyboard and mouse. There is nothing happening with them. Anyone have any ideas

Are they USB? if they are, you probably dont have the USB driver installed.

it is not USD, its an older compter and runs off the old pulgs what ever they are

Make sure you plugged them in before you started your computer. Otherwise they wont work.

Yes. I plugged everything before i turned the pc on.

borrow a different ps/2 mouse or keyboard from a friend and see if its ur computer or the stuff your using.

This has happaned to me a couple of times. Depending on how many USB ports there is at the back of the computer, mix them around and see if they work in some ports and not in others. I've found sometimes when I have my mouse and keyboard not in parallel ports, they don't work.

This computer has to be at least 12 years old by now. I wonder if some parts are just shot.
