scanner

i have a lezmark x5470.i have had it fpr awhile and it worked fine,all of a sudden i tried to scan some info for me.when i push the scan button,it says downloADING APPLICATION,THEN CANNOT RETRIVE APPLICATION LIST.COULD SOMEONE HELP ME.I AM USING VISTA HOME PREMIUM.ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

You shouldn't have to hit scan on your scanner, as long as it's connected to your PC you should be able to access it from "My Computer".
