Computer Build- AMD- wont post or run or anything...whats wrong?

am building a new computer with these specs-

amd x2 5000 black edition

gigabyte 690g micro atx motherboard

4gb of gskill RAM

Hypertx2 cooler

Earthwatts 500W

antec 900

I plugged everything in properley, checked and double checked that everything was connected to the right place in the right way, and made sure everything was secured properly. Finaly I turned it on ( with the front power swicth) and nothing happened and the fans did not start. I repeatedly tried to find the issue but every thing seemed in place.

I know one of the parts is not functioning properly and my main question is how to find out witch one.I would have tried testing the parts on a diffrent computer... but all my other comps are intel... I am hoping that the power supply is the part not working, because it is one of the cheap parts, but im convinced its the motherboard... Please help me

Your initial assessment of having received a bad board is the likely problem there. However before totally assuming this is due to bad caps or a defective chipset review the thread seen at the link here to see how a loose contact in a new supplie's 12v four wire cpu feed was simply found loose and suddenly saw things come to life. Bad Board? Or Simply A Need To Replug?
