Remote Desktop Connection

Can anyone tell me how to setup my computer which has XP to remotely connect to my mom's computer (also has XP) and is located across town? I know there is a way to do it, but am not sure how to set up the remote desktop connection for both computers. I'm tired of having to run over to my mom's house to show her how to do something on her computer. I gave her a computer for Xmas, and she is a real noob when it comes to computers. I try to talk her through basic stuff such as checking emails, etc... on the phone, but she doesn't get it. If I could connect to her computer remotely, and have her watch the screen as I do things, while talking to her on the phone, I believe this would save me a lot of gas driving back and forth to her place. Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
