Installed in it now is 2x512mb of pc2-5300
my bus is 1000mhz
crucial.com says i can use 5300 or 6400
http://crucial.com/store/listparts.a...line%20s3200n#
but hp's specs tell me it is 5300 but not sure if 6400 will work
http://www.shopping.hp.com/store/pro...N566AA%2523ABA
Thanks in advance for any help, im sure that since my bus speed is 1000mhz that the 800mhz pc2-6400 will work but im just not sure?
the PC2 -6400 should work jsut fine. but I think it would be running at 5300 speed when you put it into your pc. (But i suppose thats not the problem? )

FSB and memory speed have nothing to do with each other...
PC6400 also DDR2-800
Make sure you watch out for ECC/Non-ECC.

Pretty sure thats just the spec. on the ram thats installed, not the highest it can take. Its got a Geforce 6150 and they can read up to DDR2 800. Plus the memory controller is really on the processor and it has a X2 4800 and they can read up to DDR2 800

I just noticed in my system settings that i have the 32 - bit vista not 64 - bit. But my processor is 64 bit. Is there anyway to make mine a 64bit vista w/o spending a lot of money? If so, how, or ifnot how much does it normally cost?

No there is no way. You'll need to buy a new operating system (completely) in 64bit... anywhere from $110 to $180. (Vista Home Premium and Ultimate x64).
Your processor can run on Windows 98 with no problem. 64bit processors can run at 32bit...

Another quick question, since my computer doesn't support ECC, Does that mean either i have 2 PC2-5300 or 2 PC2-6400, andi can't have one of each. Am i understanding this correctly?
