Wireless connection cuts in and out on Laptop

Hi all.

I have an Acer Aspire 5610, and I've had it for a few months. I use a Netgear router at home, and my wireless connection consistently cuts in and out. Sometimes 2 networks show up even though mine is the only router around. It says Netgear 2, and Netgear 2 3 shows up. I have no clue if it's something to do with my wireless card or something to do with my router. I'm decent with desktops, but I'm clueless with wireless technology. Any help would be appreciated.

You could always try and go to the manufacture of the laptop and look for updated drivers and the same with the router. I have a Acer laptop as well and I had to update my wireless drivers. If there is no updates to the drivers you might want to try and reinstall them anyways just to see if that helps. Also, sometimes with routers they have firmware upgrades. Maybe you have an old firmware on your router.

Just a couple of ideas.

You may have somehow connected to someone elses router by accident. Try updating your drivers...

I think you can choose to not connect or ignore certain routers in the Wireless tab?
