Cant login to things like email, school account

I just got to University of Washington. I bought a computer yesterday and for awhile used random peoples wireless to go online (it was very unstable). Then today I bought a router and now Im connected to the schools internet and its stable and fast, but I cant do things like check email or check my school account (MyUW). It just sais the page cannon be displayed. These are very important things for me to login to obviously, so can anyone help me out here? My internet security settings are all on low and it still isnt helping. If I cant get this shit figured out I might have to return this laptop for a very pathetic reason. When I used the random people's wireless connections, I COULD do these things.



Im using IE, tried to downloading firefox but that program just cant connect to ANY websites.

In order to recover incoming emails from any accounts and other services you would need to have an account setup with the school there. Since you have internet access you simply go to your regular email accounts by way of IE and log into those while online. FireFox won't work due to not having an assigned user name and password provided by the school's ISP.
